
Our SEO Goals
Before founding Nozak Consulting, I started Harper’s Hut Shaved Ice & Java as one of my entrepreneurial ventures. As both the owner of Harper’s Hut and the founder of Nozak Consulting, I had clear goals for growing my shaved ice business:
- Increase organic traffic 100% per month
- Increase the number of keywords on the first two pages of Google results
- Increase appointments in the Tulsa Metro
- Increase total online visibility

Visibility & SEO Challenges
When I started Harper’s Hut, we faced significant digital challenges with only a one-year-old domain. Our domain authority and page authority were both at rock bottom with scores of 1/1. We were up against a 10-year-old established company and a franchise with local ownership.
In Sand Springs, there was virtually no online visibility for shaved ice businesses. Our website lacked security measures and wasn’t optimized to generate leads through an effective online funnel. We had no Google or Facebook reviews to build credibility.
I knew Harper’s Hut needed comprehensive SEO services to gain visibility on Google, Bing, Yahoo, directory listings, and social media platforms—the same services I now provide to clients through Nozak Consulting across various industries.
The SEO Strategy
I tackled the project by first addressing directory placement, claiming, and cleanup. Next, I completely retooled all existing content and created additional keyword-rich material specifically designed to achieve page 1 SERP rankings for industry-relevant keywords.
I developed a comprehensive content restructuring strategy focusing on local city rankings for Tulsa, Broken Arrow, Sand Springs, and surrounding areas. Then I optimized local ranking factors essential to the regional digital ecosystem.
With these foundational elements in place, I implemented an aggressive backlinking strategy. Multiple tracking scripts were established (including Tag Manager, Google Analytics, remarketing pixels, AdWords tracking, and Bing Webmaster Tools) to measure performance and optimize results.
The Organic Results & SEO Improvements

Since implementing my SEO strategy in January 2015, Harper’s Hut experienced a remarkable 307% increase in organic traffic. The results were impressive:
- Secured 124 keyword positions on Page 1 of SERPs
- Achieved 170 keyword positions through Page 2 of SERPs
- Increase in revenue growth rate by 80% on events
