About William Nozak

William Nozak has never been comfortable sitting still. He sold his first product before he finished college, built and scaled multiple businesses across several states, and eventually turned a hard-won understanding of search engine optimization into one of Tulsa’s most respected digital marketing firms. 

Today he is the founder and lead SEO strategist at Nozak Consulting, but the title only tells part of the story.

He is also a fractional CMO, an author, an educator, a podcast host, and a TEDx speaker who has spent more than a decade translating what actually works in digital marketing into language business owners can use.

From a Fireworks Stand to a Multinational SEO Firm

William cut his teeth as an entrepreneur with a fireworks stand he launched while attending Oral Roberts University. It was where he discovered he could sell, and where he first learned that a brand is what makes people choose one stand over the dozen others selling the exact same product. He figured out how to draw a crowd, create demand, and build a reputation that brought customers back – the same instincts for selling and brand-building that would later define his approach to marketing every business he touched.

After earning both his undergraduate degree and his MBA from ORU, he owned and operated two Oxi Fresh franchises before founding Harper’s Hut Shaved Ice & Java, which grew to six locations. Running multiple businesses in competitive local markets pushed him toward the discipline that would define his career, and with every venture he leaned harder into search engine optimization as the engine for growth.

In 2015, he founded Nozak Consulting to bring that same approach to other business owners.

Since then, the Nozak Consulting team has helped more than 500 businesses across North America increase revenue through digital marketing and SEO. That work spans local shops in Oklahoma to multinational brands and franchises across the United States and Canada, including names like Oxi Fresh Carpet Cleaning, Rolling Suds, GYM GUYZ, and Qualicare. The firm has proven a point William repeats often: industry, company size, and organization type don’t determine who wins in search. Strategy and focus do.

The Search Hustle Online Marketing School

Along the way, William noticed a gap while hiring in-house talent. Marketing graduates were leaving school without practical skills, professors were teaching theory that lagged behind the industry, and small business owners were stuck managing their own marketing with no real foundation.

So he built Search Hustle, an online digital marketing school designed to close that gap.

The curriculum covers current trends, strategies, and techniques in a format built for a wide audience, from fresh graduates and educators to owners who simply need to understand what their marketing should be doing. The Books Behind the Strategy

After a decade of doing the work, William started writing it down. His books distill years of client campaigns into frameworks that owners, marketers, and students can actually follow.

His 2023 book, Search Hustle: Digital Marketing Strategy, serves as both a standalone guide and a companion to the Search Hustle curriculum. It walks readers through the foundation of a durable SEO and content strategy that holds up across industries.

He followed it with Search Hustle: I Am Leaving My Marketing Company, written for owners and senior marketers who suspect their current agency isn’t delivering. Rather than stopping at the decision to leave, the book lays out a practical blueprint for the harder part: how to evaluate, select, negotiate with, and collaborate with a new marketing firm that actually fits the business. It’s a candid, insider’s take on a problem most owners face at some point and few know how to navigate.

William’s experience isn’t limited to the agency floor. He has served as a professor at multiple colleges and as a Director of Education, and he earned both his undergraduate degree and his MBA from Oral Roberts University where he later served on the College of Business Advisory Board.

Originally from Scranton, Pennsylvania, William now lives in Tulsa with his wife Lindsay and their three children. Faith, family, and a genuine desire to help other people succeed shape how he runs his businesses and how he shows up for the people around him.
