In case you missed it, Nozak Consulting switched to fully remote earlier this year. As our team grew and added several SEO and marketing experts around the world, we realized that the overwhelming majority of our team was already attending our meetings virtually.
So we decided to save money on our lease and increase our Tulsa team’s flexibility and work-life-balance by switching to home offices and using Kumospace as our new virtual office.
But sometimes we still miss the camaraderie that comes with meeting in person. We’ve been getting together at local coffee shops from time to time, and now we’re on a quest to discover the best coffee shop in the Tulsa metro for remote work.
How We’re Rating These Places
We all have great home offices, but there’s something different about working alongside your teammates in person. Since we’re meeting up anyway, we figured why not test these places properly and share what we find with other remote workers?
Every week, we pick a different coffee shop and meet up there for a few hours. Everyone rates the place based on what actually matters when you’re trying to get work done – WiFi speed, outlet availability, seating comfort, noise levels, coffee quality, price, and overall vibe.
Each person scores every coffee shop on a scale of 1 to 10 across different categories, then we average everything out for our final ratings.
Foolish Things Coffee Co

Address: 1001 S Main St, Tulsa, OK 74119
Hours: Monday-Saturday 8am-3pm, Closed Sunday
Date visited: September 12, 2025
Located on historic Route 66, Foolish Things has a nice interior that’s trendy and spacious with a view of downtown. The outside patio is a bit sloppy and we didn’t see any outlets or anything outside.
While Foolish Things has great coffee, it wasn’t ideal for our team collaboration needs. The space is essentially one large room with big tables in the middle and barstool seating around the perimeter. It was a bit noisy and offered zero privacy for any kind of focused work or calls.
The main issue? All the power outlets are located along the perimeter walls. If you want to meet as a group around one of those central tables like we did, you’re out of luck if anyone needs to plug in their laptop. We ended up having to sit in a line at the bar instead of around a table where we could actually collaborate face-to-face.
One nice touch was the large water cooler available for customers.
What we ordered:
- Scott: Caramel Latte ($5.95)
- Dave: Cold Brew ($4.95)
Our ratings:
- Scott: 6.5/10
- Dave: 5/10
- Dusty: 6/10
- Team Average: 5.8/10

DoubleShot Coffee Co

Address: 1633 S Boulder Ave, Tulsa, OK 74119
Hours: Monday-Friday 7am-6pm, Saturday 8am-3pm, Sunday 8am-noon
Date visited: September 25, 2025
DoubleShot Coffee Company is housed in The Rookery, an 1850s era Amish dairy barn relocated from Berne, Indiana and converted into a spacious cafe with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating options.
The two-story space with a landing between floors offers tons of different seating options and several semi-private nooks perfect for focused work or team discussions.
It was super busy when we arrived, so we started out working at a bar area. Eventually a large conference table with nearby outlets opened up, and we were able to move to a proper collaborative workspace.
The variety of spaces really sets DoubleShot apart – you’ve got options whether you need to take a phone call, work solo, or gather as a team around a proper table.
What we ordered:
- Scott: Cappuccino ($4.25), Toad-in-the-hole ($2.50), Blueberry Lemon Cake ($4.25)
- Dusty: Chai Latte ($4.50)
- Dave: Large Iced Americano ($5.50), Blueberry Lemon Loaf ($3.75)
Our ratings:
- Scott: 9/10
- Dave: 8/10
- Dusty: 7.5/10
- Team Average: 8.2/10
